Meet the Candidates Night – Wednesday, May 13

Residents will have the opportunity to meet the four Board of Education candidates on Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Howard L. Goff Middle School cafeteria for Meet the Candidates Night. There are three open seats in this year’s election, which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19. Each of the four candidates will discuss their qualifications and answer questions. The event will be hosted by the League of Women Voters.

Genet Donates Nearly 1,500 Canned Goods to Food Pantries

Genet Student CouncilGenet Elementary School is donating 1,348 soup cans and 138 cans of vegetables to the CoNSERNS-U food pantry and the Rensselaer Street Soldiers following its annual Souper Bowl can drive in February. The Souper Bowl is coordinated by Genet Student Council to support those in need.

Mr. Russello’s 5th grade class collected the most cans, with a total of 283 and has won a pizza party sponsored by the Genet PTO.

“It’s nice to see our elementary students supporting those in need and making a meaningful impact within their community,” said Genet Student Council Advisor Joan Davis.
