The Goff Science Olympiad Team at the 2024 NYS Championships

Congratulations to the Goff Science Olympiad Team, who once again placed in the top 10 in New York State. The Goff Science Olympiad team competed against 40 other teams from across New York State on Saturday in East Syracuse, N.Y. These teams were the best teams selected from a field of 287 teams that competed in their regional competitions. Goff Middle School placed 10th at the New York State finals earning medals in five of the 23 events.

“We had a very strong, solid team this year,” said Goff Science Olympiad Head Coach Donnamarie Vlieg. “While our medal count is not as high as we hoped, the team score is a combination of the scores from all 23 events. The fact that we were able to make it to the top 10 in one of the most competitive states in the USA reflects the caliber of the students that we had on the team this year.
