2024 Red Mill Read for Ronald McDonald House Program
Red Mill Elementary School students read more than 1 million minutes collectively during the Read for Ronald McDonald House program in February. As part of the campaign, students raised $8,219 through pledges and donations for the time they spent reading and collected 68 pounds of pull tabs.

The school hosted an assembly on March 22 to reveal the total donation amount and recognized classes that read the most minutes.

“We are so proud of our Red Mill Readers for all their time spent reading for Ronald McDonald House Charities this year!” said Red Mill Librarian Liz Griffin. “Their dedication to counting their reading minutes, collecting pull tabs, and fundraising for a great cause has had such a positive impact on our community. We are blown away by their continued efforts to give back. Thank you, Reading Rockstars!”

  • Students in Mrs. Harrison, Ms. Marra, Mr. Wicks, Ms. Buoye and Mrs. Hayes’ classes read the most minutes so they got to wrap their teachers like mummies at the assembly
  • Ms. Eckert’s 3rd grade class won a pizza party for collecting the most pull tabs
  • All students earned a half day Game Day in which they brought in board games from home to play with their friends

Congratulations to all of our students!
