All East Greenbush CSD schools will have a half day on Friday, April 26 due to professional development. Dismissal Times: Columbia (10:03 a.m.), Goff (10:40 a.m.), Pre-K at DPS/Genet/Green Meadow/Red Mill (10:45 a.m.), Genet (11:15 a.m.), Bell Top (11:30 a.m.), DPS (11:30 a.m.), Green Meadow (11:30 a.m.), Red Mill (11:30 a.m.).

Holiday Giving Opportunities

Columbia students with Christmas giftsThe East Greenbush Central School District has a long tradition of giving back to the community, particularly during the holidays. Thank you to everyone who supported these projects!


Columbia Athletics Adopt a Family

  • Donate new unwrapped toys to families in need
  • Suggested donations:
    • Grocery store gift cards in any amount (we are looking to add $50.00 worth of gift cards to each family)
    • Puzzles and board games
    • Coloring books
    • Superhero items
    • Legos
    • Arts and craft items
    • Sports items for our older kids (soccer balls, footballs, baseballs, softballs)
    • Gaming gift cards for our older students
    • Boots/clothes

Goff Mitten Tree

  • Collecting new mittens, gloves, hats and scarves for children and adults in need
  • Donations can be hung directly on the Mitten Tree in the Goff lobby
  • Donations will be sent to the Nassau Resource Center ahead of Christmas
  • Deadline is December 20

Red Mill Sock Tree

  • Collecting new socks for children and adults in need
  • Donations can be added to the holiday sock box or hung directly on the Sock Tree which are both located in the Red Mill foyer
  • Donations collected will be sent to CoNSERNS-U
  • Deadline is December 22

Saint Anne’s Preschool Gift Giving

  • The Cheerleading program and Leaders of Tomorrow Leading Today is collecting gifts for children attending preschool at Saint Anne’s Institute
  • Accepting boys and girls clothing and coats (unwrapped) in sizes 4-6 at Columbia
  • Deadline is December 11

Movie Night to Benefit Salvation Army in Hudson

  • Columbia’s Ethnic Coalition club is hosting a family movie night on Friday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the Columbia auditorium
  • All Columbia and Goff students and their families are invited to attend the event
  • Entry costs $5 per person and all food and drink is $1
  • All proceeds will benefit the Salvation Army in Hudson

Bell Top Gift Collection for CoNSERNS-U Holiday Store

  • Collecting new toys and board games
  • Bell Top will donate the gifts to the CoNSERNS-U Holiday Store where families in need are invited to shop for free
  • Donate new, unwrapped toys and board games to Bell Top by December 8

Candy Cane Collection for Santa’s Visit to Elementary Schools

  • The East Greenbush CSD Transportation Department is collecting donations of Spangler candy canes
  • The candy canes will be given out by Santa and his elves to elementary students as well as Special Education classes at Columbia and Goff in December
  • Donations of Spangler candy canes (this brand is peanut and gluten free) will be accepted at all schools and the Transportation Department
  • Deadline for donations is December 15
