Dismissal Times: Columbia (10:03 a.m.), Goff (10:40 a.m.), Pre-K at DPS/Genet/Green Meadow/Red Mill (10:45 a.m.), Genet (11:15 a.m.), Bell Top (11:30 a.m.), DPS (11:30 a.m.), Green Meadow (11:30 a.m.), Red Mill (11:30 a.m.).

Principal Sawchuk to Compete in 16 Handles Tastemaker Contest

Columbia High School Principal John Sawchuk will be competing with the principals from Averill Park and Maple Hill to make the best frozen yogurt at 16 Handles in East Greenbush on Monday, May 15 at 6:30 p.m.

Each principal will create an original mix of frozen yogurt and toppings to be taste-tested by a panel of judges. The frozen yogurt will be judged on three categories – taste, appearance and creativity.

The winning principal will receive a $150 donation to their school from 16 Handles. Second and third place will receive $100 and $50, respectively. Additionally, 16% of all sales from that evening (6:00-9:00 p.m.) will be split three ways and donated to the high schools.

Students and their families are invited to attend and root on Mr. Sawchuk!
