Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Columbia junior Ronnie Shuhart combined his computer and artistic skills to advocate for online safety in a statewide poster contest. He created an anti-cyber bullying poster in his Computer Graphics class using Adobe Photoshop CS4.

Shuhart was one of 12 winners from throughout New York State (450 entries). His poster design will be displayed on the NYS Keeping Kids Safe Online webpage and in the “Kids Safe Online” calendar published this fall.

“I’ve always been against bullying,” Shuhart said. “It’s good people will see this.”

Shuhart’s teacher Patti LeRoy said this was a good project for her students because “We always teach a positive aspect,” she said. “It’s very rewarding to see their hard work recognized.”

Shuhart’s poster design has been automatically entered in the National K-12 Poster Contest, conducted by the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center. Winners will be announced in May.
