The fourth graders of GMTV produced a video just in time for School Board Recognition Week in New York, and it was played at the Board of Education’s meeting Wednesday evening at Green Meadow Elementary School.

The video featured interviews of Board of Education President Dr. Shay Harrison and Superintendent Jeff Simons, and also highlighted the work of the student-run TV studio.

“My favorite part is hopefully doing something positive for the school district because I had a lot of great opportunities and cool experiences when I was a student here in the school district and after I graduated,” Dr. Harrison said in the video. “And all those things came about because I had a great education.”

Mr. Simons also appeared as a guest in the GMTV studio to talk about his job and to provide some advice for students.

“It’s important that everything you do – whether it’s reading, math, physical education, art, music, social studies, science or something like this in the television studio – you always try to do your best. Give it your best every day and everything will work out,” he said.

The video was edited by GMTV advisor and fourth grade teacher Jaimee Kusche.
