School Budget Vote and Board Election - May 21

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a school budget for 2024-25 that maintains all programs and services with a 0.55% tax levy increase, which is within the NYS Property Tax Cap. Residents will also vote on a $116 million capital project that would improve school facilities and grounds across the district with no impact to local taxpayers, the replacement of eight school buses, which if approved by voters, will be fully paid for by the Bus Purchase Reserve Fund, and elect three individuals to the Board of Education.

Columbia Schedules Locker Cleanout and Cap and Gown Pickup

Columbia High SchoolColumbia High School has scheduled times for students to clean out lockers and return any textbooks or books during the week of June 8-12. Each grade level has been assigned a different day, and time slots have been designated by last name in order to ensure social distancing.

Seniors are required to return district-issued Chromebooks and chargers during their designated times (all other students should keep their Chromebooks over the summer). Seniors will also be able to pick up their caps and gowns along with any awards during their scheduled times. 

Yearbooks will not be available for pickup. The company that prints the yearbooks, Lifetouch, cannot deliver them until July because their operation was shutdown due to COVID-19. Once yearbooks arrive at our schools, we will send an email to parents about how those will be distributed.

Please note that members of Administration and Security will be on-site and in the building to assist students and ensure everyone is maintaining safety protocols.

It is imperative that everyone follows the following safety protocols:

  • Everyone must wear a mask the entire time you are on the campus.  
  • Arrive during your scheduled time to maintain proper social distancing in the building.
  • In the event that we reach our building limit for capacity, you may be asked to wait in your car.  For this reason, it is expected that students will not be dropped off, and must have a car to wait in if the need arises.
  • If you are unable to come during your scheduled time there will be additional time slots available later that same day. 

CHROMEBOOK RETURN FOR SENIORS

Seniors must return district-issued Chromebooks. When you arrive at school during your designated time, you will be shown where to go to return your Chromebook and charger.

STUDENT MEDICATION

If your student has medication in the health office it will be delivered to your vehicle.  Upon arrival please provide your name and your child’s name to any staff member in the bus loop and the school nurse will deliver the medication curbside.
