The CHS Art club has been meeting since September and they have been busy ever since creating art work for the small display case by the Main Lobby. In October, they celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in December they displayed Rainbow Scratch art inspired by quotes that promote “Love and Happiness.”
Currently, the club is working on a collaboration project to make a poster design that will be printed and sent to thank the heroes working in hospitals and nursing homes. They also plan to do a collaboration flower-motif display for Spring and then in June hope to celebrate Pride Month with some original artwork.
Since March of last year, the Art Club has been an ongoing safe place for students to share their art and ideas. It is a time for students to show and discuss work they are making outside of the art rooms.
“It’s been a really nice group of students to work with,” said Valerie Gordon, CHS Art Club advisor. “They have big hearts and want to use their creative skills to brighten their school and community environment however they can, even remotely!”
