Columbia High School senior Eric Blostein recently earned Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts, for his dog park project at the East Greenbush Town Park. Mr. Blostein built a fence to divide the East Greenbush Dog Park and create a safe way for smaller dogs to enter their own side of the dog park. He collected over 30,000 cans and bottles and raised $5,000 from private donations to make other improvements to the park.
Mr. Blostein, who will graduate in June and then attend college at the Rochester Institute of Technology, was recognized by Rensselaer County legislators Kelly Hoffman, Tom Grant and Rob Bayly on Friday evening at a ceremony at the East Greenbush Town Park.
