Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In just a few short weeks our students will be enjoying summer vacation!  Although the 2020-2021 school year was far from “normal,”  we faced the challenges of COVID-19 together and created a safe learning environment for our students. As a school community we enjoyed many successes, learned so much, and tried to have some fun, too. The remaining days of school will certainly be busy.

The EGCSD is hosting the “Jurassic 5K Walk/Run for Mental Health Awareness” on Saturday, June 5 at Green Meadow Elementary School in memory of Thomas Bellisario. Thomas was a former Green Meadow student. This event will help raise mental health awareness and provide resources to the community. Additional details may be found on the school district website.

Our PE teachers, Coach Dedrick and Coach Jette, will be having our students participate in Track and Field events during the week of June 7-11. Although we cannot host a traditional “Field Day” this year, our students will still get to participate in some fun events during their PE classes and win some ribbons!

Class picnics will be held on June 21. Thank you to our PTO for supporting this event for our students. Please note this event is for students only. If you are asked by your child’s teacher to send in any items for the picnic, please drop them off at the main office. This should be a fun day for all!

It is with mixed emotions that I announce we have three staff members retiring at the end of the school year:

  • Mr. Bennett Kelvin, School Psychologist
  • Mrs. Arlissa Simon, Teaching Assistant
  • Mrs. Mary Tremblay, Teaching Assistant

All of these individuals have served Green Meadow Elementary School in a professional and caring manner. They will each leave a big set of shoes to fill and will be missed greatly. I wish them all much happiness as they enter into retirement and thank them for having a positive impact on the students in the East Greenbush Central School District over many years.

I want to thank our school community for the outstanding support and pride that is so much a part of our school. Working together, we can continue to provide our students with a wonderful educational experience.

Sincerely,
