East Greenbush CSD Conducts Lottery for New Pre-K Program

The East Greenbush Central School District conducted a lottery for its new Pre-K Program on Tuesday evening in the Genet Elementary School auditorium. The lottery, which was open to the public, was operated by an independent auditor.

The first 36 children drawn in the lottery are being offered spots in the new Pre-K Program. All remaining applicants will be added to a wait list.

Parents will receive a phone call on Wednesday, October 6 if their child was selected for the Pre-K Program. At that time, the district will confirm intent to enroll in the program and send a registration packet to the family. Registration packets are due back to the district by Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

If a student who was selected in the lottery is withdrawn from the program by their parents or they are determined to be ineligible, that slot will go to the next available child on the wait list.

The Pre-K Program is scheduled to start Monday, October 18. The school day will run from 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. It will be located at Red Mill Elementary School and operated by Questar III BOCES. Transportation will not be provided.
