Fifth grade students walked across a stage in the Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School gym on Thursday to receive graduation certificates, signifying the end of elementary school. The students will attend sixth grade at Howard L. Goff Middle School in the fall.
Principal Jack Alvey led the ceremony, and along with fifth grade teachers Mrs. Susan D’Amico, Mrs. Jennifer Reddy and Mrs. Sarah Virnelli, congratulated the students on completing elementary school.
“I am very proud of our 5th grade class and how much they have grown in their time at DPS,” said Principal Alvey. “It was wonderful to conduct a traditional moving up ceremony. I was so happy to see the smiles on the faces of our families, faculty and fifth grade students. It was a great day for our school community!”
