Green Meadow Student Council took a field trip to CoNSERNS-U in Rensselaer on Thursday to deliver food pantry donations. Green Meadow collected more than 1,000 cans during its two-week food drive this fall. The Student Council, along with advisors John Flanagan and Jaimee Kusche, packed the cans into boxes and then brought them to CoNSERNS-U to restock its food pantry.
While there, students learned about CoNSERNS-U and how it helps in the local community. The students also packed Thanksgiving bags for families in need and helped organize the charity’s free Christmas Store which allows parents to come and shop for free so they can provide their children with gifts.
“The staff was very grateful for all of our donations and appreciative of the hard work our Student Council did this morning!” said Mrs. Kusche.
