Pre-K students at Red Mill Elementary SchoolThe East Greenbush Central School District is now accepting applications for its 2023-24 Pre-K Program for eligible 4-year-old students. The program, which is free for families, would start on the first day of school in September.

There will be slots for up to 61 students, including one section each at Donald P. Sutherland, Genet and Red Mill Elementary Schools, and seven students at the Early Childhood Education Center.

The deadline for applications is Friday, March 31, 2023.

All applicants will be entered into a lottery, which will be held Monday, April 17, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Genet Elementary School auditorium. An independent auditor will conduct the lottery and each applicant will be assigned a number prior to the lottery draw.

2023-24 Pre-K Program:

  • The Pre-K program will have space for 61 students in the 2023-24 school year
    • 18 students at DPS
    • 18 students at Genet
    • 18 students at Red Mill
    • 7 students at the Early Childhood Education Center in North Greenbush
  • Students must be 4 years old as of December 1, 2023 and must be district residents
  • Students will be selected randomly through a lottery drawing on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in the Genet Elementary School auditorium. The lottery will be open to the public.
  • School day will run 8:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. for DPS, Genet and Red Mill. School day will run 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at ECEC.
  • Pre-K Program will follow the East Greenbush CSD school calendar
  • No tuition cost to families
  • Transportation will not be provided
