Green Meadow Elementary School fifth graders took the stage one final time on Thursday morning as they received graduation certificates at their Moving Up Ceremony. The event marked the end of elementary school and celebrated all that they had learned at Green Meadow.
They will start 6th grade this coming fall at Howard L. Goff Middle School.
The event included speeches from Principal Daniel Garab, Superintendent Jeff Simons and the fifth grade teachers, as well as musical performances, student awards and a photo slideshow.
“It has certainly been an exciting journey over the past six years while your children were at Green Meadow. Most significantly they faced the challenges of COVID-19,” Mr. Garab said to the audience which included family members. “This wasn’t easy for anyone, especially a child. But you not only succeeded, your hard work made Green Meadow Elementary School literally one of the best schools in the entire country,” noting its selection as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2021.
Congratulations to the graduates!
