Elementary schools in the East Greenbush Central School District are celebrating National Fire Prevention Month in October as a way to teach students important lessons about fire safety.

Local fire departments visited schools this month to discuss smoke detectors; 911; Stop, Drop and Roll; and what to do in the case of a fire. Students also toured fire trucks during the visits, practiced getting low and crawling to safety, and asked the firefighters questions.

Special thanks to our local fire departments for visiting our schools!
