School Budget Vote and Board Election - May 21

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a school budget for 2024-25 that maintains all programs and services with a 0.55% tax levy increase, which is within the NYS Property Tax Cap. Residents will also vote on a $116 million capital project that would improve school facilities and grounds across the district with no impact to local taxpayers, the replacement of eight school buses, which if approved by voters, will be fully paid for by the Bus Purchase Reserve Fund, and elect three individuals to the Board of Education.

The East Greenbush Education Foundation is now accepting nominations for the Columbia High School Alumni Hall of Fame and the Community Leader Award.

This program recognizes and applauds the work of Columbia graduates who have a positive and profound impact on society through personal achievement, scholarly pursuit, or community service. To be nominated, a candidate must have graduated from Columbia High School and have demonstrated achievement in their profession or in an area in which they take an active interest, or have shown outstanding service to a specific community including those outside East Greenbush, or have contributed to or served humanity in some special way. The names of the Hall of Fame members are inscribed on a plaque that is prominently displayed in Columbia High School.

In addition to recognizing outstanding graduates from Columbia High School, the Education Foundation is excited to honor community members for the work they have done in East Greenbush.

Nominations for both categories are due by December 31, 2023. Forms should be submitted to:

East Greenbush Education Foundation
East Greenbush Central School District
