Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Principal Garab with the Principals of the Day

Emily and Nicky Gildart served as Principals of the Day as they shadowed Green Meadow Principal Daniel Garab on Monday.

Green Meadow Elementary School had some new and temporary leadership on Monday as two students served as Principals of the Day. Wearing business attire and staff ID badges, fifth grader Emily Gildart and her brother first grader Nicky Gildart won the job by donating the most canned goods in the school’s SOUPer Bowl food drive.

As Principals of the Day, Emily and Nicky shadowed Principal Daniel Garab. They supervised parent drop off and pickup, reviewed staffing and schedules for the day, made PA announcements, and visited classrooms. They also attended a number of meetings with Transportation Administrator Dr. Wanda McQueen, Food Service Manager Colleen Wise, Head Custodian George Wyant, Schodack Police Chief Perry Natale and PTO President Holly Gialanella.

They said they enjoyed making the PA announcements and being visible as they walked the hallways and checked in on classrooms.

“I’m so proud of Emily and Nicky for collecting so many canned goods for such a great cause!” said Mr. Garab. “They both did a great job as Principals of the Day. They took the job seriously and also had a lot of fun!”
