Columbia Students Place in Top 10 at Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge

Columbia students at the Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge at the UAlbany Broadview Center
Columbia High School students in the HVCC Personal Finance and Accounting classes participated in a Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge on March 27 at the UAlbany Broadview Center. The event allowed students to experience a simulated stock market in a fast-paced environment.

Of the 100 teams that competed, Columbia placed 6th and 10th in the competition. Those two Columbia teams included Cole Mellen, Cedric Monteau, Luke Cioffi, Steven Heller, Nico Heath, Truth Cunningham, and Aiden Dailey.

Students prepared for the event by being introduced to basic investment concepts and how the stock market works.
