FAQ: Stopfinder

Q: Will Stopfinder allow me to know when my child arrives at school or home?
A: Yes. Parents can receive a push notification from the Stopfinder app when their child swipes on or off a school bus with their bus card.

Q: How do I get the Stopfinder app?
A: 1) Download the Stopfinder app for free from the App Store or Google Play. Parents and guardians are encouraged to download the Stopfinder app prior to receiving your child’s Stopfinder invitation email. 2) Activate your Stopfinder subscriber Invitation. Stopfinder will require an invite and registration through the district prior to accessing your student’s transportation schedule. The primary email address that is currently on file with the district will be used for Stopfinder setup. 3) Set up your Stopfinder GeoAlerts and notifications. You can customize your alerts and notifications in Stopfinder. You can also share your child’s information with your family, friends, neighbors, and daycares as subscribers.

Q: Do both parents/guardians receive the invitation email from Stopfinder?
A: No. Only the primary parent in PowerSchool will receive an invitation from Stopfinder. Once that parent has subscribed to Stopfinder, and has downloaded the Stopfinder app, they can share that student’s schedule with other caregivers.

Q: Is the Stopfinder app free for parents?
A: Yes.

Q: What are GeoAlerts?
A: GeoAlerts are a feature within Stopfinder that allow parents to receive push notifications when the bus arrives at or departs the alert zone. The parent can set their own zones within Stopfinder.

Q: Will parents receive Stopfinder notifications during emergencies?
A: No. In accordance with our safety plan, Stopfinder will not provide geo-alerts in the event of an emergency such as a lockdown or lockout at one of our schools to prevent tracking of our buses during an emergency.

Q: When will Stopfinder be available?
A: The rollout of Stopfinder will start at Bell Top Elementary School with Grades K-2 (May 2024) and Grades 3-5 (June 2024) before it is launched district-wide for the start of the 2024-25 school year.
