After 40 years of working in education, including the past 26 years as principal of Red Mill Elementary School, Principal John Caporta is retiring in June. We sat down with Mr. Caporta to talk about his career, the changes in education over the years, and what he will miss most.

Goff Middle School Principal Wayne Grignon will be the next principal of Citizen Genet Elementary School. The Board of Education approved the transfer at its public meeting on Wednesday evening, meaning Mr. Grignon will finish out this school year at Goff and then move to Genet on July 1, 2019 and succeed Principal Ana Yeomans, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
In just a few hours’ time on Friday morning, students from Columbia High School and Howard L. Goff Middle School transformed an empty gymnasium into a festive Christmas Store at CoNSERNS-U in the city of Rensselaer.
