Capital Project

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a $116 million capital project that, if approved by voters, would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools at no additional cost to the local taxpayer. The proposed capital project will be a proposition on the School Budget Vote and Board Election ballot scheduled for Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

Columbia Cheerleaders and members of Leaders of Tomorrow Leading Today participated in a virtual gift exchange with the preschool students of Saint Anne’s Institute on Tuesday.

The preschool students and Columbia students alike look forward to this event annually. Although the event needed to remain virtual for the second year in a row due to COVID-19, the preschool students’ genuine joy and appreciation for the gifts was evident on screen.

Saint Anne’s Institute – Stephanie Schaefer:
“Thank you so very much for another successful year of giving. The children were more than pleased and excited to receive such wonderful and generous gifts. We are beyond grateful.”

Leaders of Tomorrow Leading Today Advisor – Rune Williams:
“Every year the Columbia Cheerleaders and the Leaders of Tomorrow Leading Today club do a gift giving to the children of St. Annes school in Albany. It is an absolutely rewarding program that our students love being a part of. We would go to the school and each child would open gifts with their “Santa” and play together.  Our students really enjoy doing it. Unfortunately due to Covid we could only do it via a Google Meet but It was still rewarding to see the children at St. Annes open their presents. Thank you to all the students for helping to brighten the day of those children!”

Varsity Cheerleading Head Coach – Rhiannah Johnson:
“While it’s unfortunate we couldn’t celebrate in-person, this tradition is always one that our program cherishes. This year was no exception. We look forward to it every holiday season and our Columbia Cheerleading family is always so incredibly generous. Definitely proud to be a Devil today.”

Math Teacher & Cheer Coach – Christine Kawczak
“This Columbia Cheer tradition is something that we’ve been doing since before I started coaching in 2009. Saint Anne’s is our favorite event of the holiday season, we love giving back to the community. The generosity of the East Greenbush families impresses us year after year. This year we filled a minivan with so many gifts we thought we may need a second vehicle.”
