The following message was emailed to all parents on Wednesday, February 16.

Dear EGCSD Community,

The East Greenbush Central School District has received additional COVID-19 at-home rapid test kits from the New York State Department of Health. We have been asked to distribute these test kits to all students and staff ahead of the Winter Recess so they can be used as a screening tool.

All students and staff will be sent home with test kits on Friday, February 18. One test kit (containing two rapid tests each) will be provided for each student and employee.

Please test your child on Sunday, February 27 (prior to their return to school on Monday, February 28) and again 2-3 days later.

Taking part in testing is voluntary. If you do not want a test kit sent home with your child, please notify your child’s school main office no later than Thursday, February 17. 

Any student or staff member who tests positive on a take-home test must follow COVID-19 guidance and begin isolation at home and report the positive result to your school. Negative test results do not need to be reported.

Please note: any student or staff member who is experiencing COVID symptoms, regardless of vaccination status, must isolate at home and follow isolation guidelines. Individuals can return to school/work with a negative test result and resolution of symptoms.
