School Budget Vote and Board Election - May 21

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a school budget for 2024-25 that maintains all programs and services with a 0.55% tax levy increase, which is within the NYS Property Tax Cap. Residents will also vote on a $116 million capital project that would improve school facilities and grounds across the district with no impact to local taxpayers, the replacement of eight school buses, which if approved by voters, will be fully paid for by the Bus Purchase Reserve Fund, and elect three individuals to the Board of Education.

Driver Education signageEDITOR’S NOTE: Driver Education Registration is now full and any new applications will be put on a waitlist.

Registration for the Fall 2023 Driver Education class at Columbia High School is now open. In order to register, students must submit a registration form (also available in the Columbia Main Office) and the class fee of $490 by check, bank check or money order made out to East Greenbush CSD.

Driver Education includes two parts:

  • 24 hours of classroom instruction (1.5 hours per week for 16 weeks)
  • 24 hours of hands-on driving accompanied by the instructor

Class begins the week of September 11.

A maximum of four students per car is permitted. Therefore, there are only 28 spots available for the Fall 2023 Driver Education program. Registration is done on a first come, first served basis.
