School Budget Vote and Board Election - Tuesday, May 21

The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a school budget for 2024-25 that maintains all programs and services with a 0.55% tax levy increase, which is within the NYS Property Tax Cap. The proposed budget, totaling $111,660,557, would maintain current average class sizes, expand the Pre-K Program from 97 students to 165 students, continue the district’s 1:1 chromebook program and upgrade the wireless network and other technology systems.

The Columbia All Sports Club will be hosting the Athletic Hall of Fame Celebration and honoring the Class of 2024 inductees on Friday, May 10. The event will start with a dedication at 4:30 p.m. in the Columbia Athletic Hall of Fame Walkway followed by a reception at 5:30 p.m. at Franklin Terrace in Troy.

Congratulations to former student athletes Casey Balzer ’09, Hillary Faas ’10, Caitlin (Cooper) Gibson ’13, Chris Smith ’13 and Gabrielle Childrose ’15 and from the Coach/Staff/Community Category, Robert Crain.

“We are excited to honor this group of individuals that made great impacts on our Boys’ Lacrosse, Girls’ Lacrosse, Football, Softball and Wrestling programs,” said Columbia Director of Athletics Ryan Jones. “Join us on May 10th as we celebrate these five former student athletes and one long time coach who have left lasting impressions on the athletic programs here at Columbia High School!”
