Kindergarten Returns Full Time Starting March 1

The Board of Education has approved two changes to the instructional model: 1) Kindergarten students will resume five days a week of in-person learning starting on Monday, March 1. The Full Remote Program is still available to families. 2) Live Virtual Wednesdays will be eliminated for students in grades 1-5 starting March 10 to provide one additional in-person school day every other week. March 10 will be an in-person school day for B Day students and A Day students will have a remote day. The schedule will alternate going forward.

Food ServicesAll students in the East Greenbush Central School District are now eligible for free meals through December 31, or until available funding expires, due to the USDA extending free meal programs. This additional federal funding is a continuation of the free meal program that the district operated during the summer.

This means that any student who buys breakfast or lunch at school will not be charged. Student account balances will be maintained until the USDA funding expires.

While any student may be served free meals, the district is encouraging families who normally submit the Free and Reduced Price Meal Application to do so for the 2020-21 school year. Families who qualify can continue receiving meals at no charge through the end of the school year. Please send applications to your school principal’s office or email them to Phyllis S. Krug at
