Schools across the country continue to be affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in a variety of ways. The most recent effect has been changes to school meals caused by supply chain issues in the food service industry. The Food Service Department will do its best to notify families and students ahead of time if a menu item is changed. And parents can be sure that their children will continue to receive healthy breakfast and lunch daily despite these national chain supply issues.

The East Greenbush CSD will continue to offer free meals to all students in the upcoming school year by accepting a waiver issued by the USDA. The waiver allows school districts to offer all students free breakfast and lunch as families continue to be impacted by the pandemic. There is no cost to the district for enrolling in this program. All free meals are reimbursed by the USDA.
The East Greenbush Central School District offers free and reduced price meals to children from households that meet Federal income guidelines. To apply for free or reduced price meals for the 2021-22 school year, complete the application, sign it, and return it to your school as soon as possible
The school year is about to end but free meals will still be available to children and teens in need throughout Rensselaer County this summer. Starting in July, there will be five meal sites located in and around the East Greenbush Central School District, which are sponsored by the Rensselaer County Department for Youth.
