DPS Returns to Normal Hybrid Schedule, 19 Students and 5 Employees Quarantined Due to Case of COVID-19

Based on class rosters, seating charts and other information, 19 students and five employees have been identified as contacts and must enter mandatory quarantine at home through Monday, December 14. Affected students will be placed on remote learning until they are released from quarantine. All other DPS students will return to their normal schedules for the rest of the week.

Goff Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19, No Others Quarantined

The East Greenbush Central School District was informed today that a Howard L. Goff Middle School employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee was last in school on Wednesday, December 2, which was a Live Virtual Wednesday with students learning from home. Due to the timeline of when the employee was last in contact with students and staff and when they became infectious, there was no exposure at the school that would require contact tracing. The district concluded this with the direction of Albany and Rensselaer County Health Departments.

The next Board of Education meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 9 at 7:00 p.m. Due to social distancing guidelines, the public may not attend the meeting in person, however, we will be live streaming the meeting via Google Meet from Columbia High School.
