The East Greenbush Central School District recognized its 2023-24 Volunteers of the Year at the public Board of Education meeting on Tuesday evening at Genet Elementary School. The Volunteers of the Year were nominated by administrators from each school as well as the Athletic and Technology Departments.
The Volunteers of the Year spend countless hours helping teachers in classrooms, coordinating and assisting at school events, organizing fundraisers, taking photos for yearbooks, supporting booster clubs and helping out wherever needed.
“This meeting is one we look forward to every year because of the opportunity we have as administrators and a board to thank all of the individuals within our community who step up and spend a lot of time in our schools providing programs, extra activities and support for our students,” Superintendent Jeff Simons said at the ceremony. “We wouldn’t be as strong of a district without our volunteers.”
During the volunteer recognition ceremony, each honoree received a certificate and a special gift.
Congratulations to our Volunteers of the Year and thank you for your contributions!
