The East Greenbush Central School District has been engaged in the Curriculum Mapping Process since February of 2017.
This initiative supports the East Greenbush Central School District’s Goal #1:
- Maintaining Academic Excellence
- Maintain all East Greenbush Schools as Schools in Good Standing as designated by the New York State Education Department, by ensuring that there is a cohesive curriculum across grades K-5 and a cyclical review of all course work to prepare all students to graduate College or Career ready
- Implement revised math and ELA Common Core Learning Standards
The mapping process has involved Kindergarten through Grade 5 teachers from all five of our elementary buildings. The goal has been centered on developing a cohesive K-5 curriculum which is aligned to state learning standards in order to increase consistency in the instructional delivery, K-5 district-wide.
This process has included efforts to:
- Identify and address the priority and supporting standards at each grade level
- Identify and address any instructional gaps that may currently exist based on reliable data
- Develop common benchmark assessments in both ELA and Mathematics for all grades K-5 to be used strictly for instructional decision-making
