All students are required to have a physical exam when entering the following grades: Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and all new students to the school district. Additionally, students participating in interscholastic sports must have a physical exam annually.
Physical exams should be done by your private practitioner. If this is not possible, school physicals are offered a few times a school year with our district medical director. If your child has a school physical, you will be notified of any problems noted during the school health assessment. In addition, any physicals that were done within the last 12 months of the student entering are acceptable.
School nurses perform state-mandated health screenings throughout the school year including:
- Vision
- Hearing
- Scoliosis
