Columbia Hosts ‘Elevating and Empowering Student Voices’ Program
A dozen Columbia High School students met last month to discuss inclusivity in school so that all students feel welcome and accepted. The program is called Elevating and Empowering Student Voices and it is being offered in collaboration with Questar III BOCES and its component districts.
Goff Hosts Play About Henry Johnson and WWI
Howard L. Goff Middle School was a stop on the Capital Repertory Theatre’s On-The-Go! tour of “Henry Johnson: Ballad of a Forgotten Hero” on February 9. The 45-minute production was offered to students in the school gym and supplemented what they had been learning about World War I in Social Studies class.

Mike Neumann Announced as Next Bell Top Principal
The East Greenbush Central School District appointed Mike Neumann as the next principal of Bell Top Elementary School at the public Board of Education on Wednesday evening. Mr. Neumann has served as an assistant principal at Howard L. Goff Middle School since 2015. He will start his new position at Bell Top on July 1, succeeding Principal Martin Mahar who is retiring at the end of the school year.
Free Active Parenting Workshop for Parents of Children Ages 5-12
Parents of children ages 5-12 are invited to attend a series of free Active Parenting Workshops on Wednesdays in April and May that will offer guidance in the areas of respectful discipline, skills for clear and honest communication, concrete strategies to prevent risky behavior and how to be an encouraging parent.
Green Meadow Student Council Thanks Bus Drivers with Special Breakfast
Green Meadow Student Council welcomed bus drivers to school on Wednesday, March 20 with a “Thank You Bus Drivers” banner and colorful signs. The drivers were also treated to a special breakfast in the school faculty room.
