Capital Project Breaking News
The East Greenbush CSD has proposed a Capital Project that would improve facilities and grounds at all seven schools. The estimated cost for the proposed project is $116 million, but due to state building aid and expiring debt, it is estimated there would be no additional impact to local taxpayers.

Columbia Students Dust for Fingerprints in Forensics Class
Columbia High School students learned how to dust for and examine fingerprints during their Forensics class recently. The activity was part of the Fingerprint unit and led by licensed fingerprint examiners Douglas Shaffer and Jessica Zinssar from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.
Columbia Girls’ Bowling Wins NYS Championship
The Columbia Girls’ Bowling team won the NYSPHSAA Championship on Sunday in Syracuse. Congratulations!

The next Board of Education meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Central Administration Conference Room.
Five Hour Pre-Licensing Course – April 9 and 11
The East Greenbush Central School District is offering a Five Hour Pre-Licensing Course on Tuesday, April 9 and Thursday, April 11 from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. on both evenings in the Columbia High School library classroom.
Condolences to the Frankoski Family
The East Greenbush Central School District is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Casey Frankoski ’13, a graduate of Columbia High School and a helicopter pilot in the National Guard. According to reports, Casey was tragically killed when her helicopter crashed on Friday afternoon while conducting aviation operations as part of a border security mission near Rio Grande City, Texas.
Columbia Kicks Cancer Raises $90,000 for Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
The Columbia Kicks Cancer team led by Patrick Donnelly ’24, Cole Durivage ’24 and Corey Hamilton ’24 won the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2024 Student Visionaries of the Year by raising more than $90,000. The money will be donated to LLS for blood cancer treatment and care.
