Three Columbia High School students had artwork accepted to the 33rd annual Questar III Art Show on Wednesday evening. Amanda Craven, Sophia Xiao and Nova Vath each had their graphite drawings accepted to the juried art show and displayed as part of the exhibit. Congratulations to Ms. Craven who won first place!

The District-wide Art Show is scheduled for Thursday, May 12, and for the third year in a row, will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While the community cannot come together for this popular event, the dedicated art teachers throughout the district have produced a Google Slides presentation so everyone can enjoy the outstanding work of the students.

Columbia High School senior Italia Verdi ’22 was awarded the 4th annual Leonard Bus Sales “A Day in the Life of a School Bus” art competition on March 29. As the winner of the competition, Ms. Verde will receive a $1,000 one-time higher-education scholarship from Leonard Bus Sales for her original artwork depicting a day in the life of a school bus. Congratulations!

Sixth grade students from Howard L. Goff Middle School participated in the 13th annual Student Art Exhibit at the Empire State Plaza. The exhibit, held each year during National Youth Art Month, invites students (K-8) to interpret the Plaza Art Collection and create their own artwork.
