Administrators welcomed 54 new teachers and staff to the East Greenbush Central School District on Monday during its New Employee Orientation at Columbia High School. The two-day program provides an opportunity for new staff to participate in training, learn about employee benefits and support services, and meet with colleagues.

In the first 10 days of utilizing stop arm cameras on school buses, 77 drivers were ticketed for illegally passing an East Greenbush CSD bus, according to a Transportation Department report. Each of the instances were recorded by new stop arm cameras that were installed on buses this past winter in an effort to improve school bus safety.
East Greenbush Central School District residents approved the proposed school budget for 2023-24 earlier today. The $108 million budget will maintain programs and services and it includes staffing additions, technology upgrades, facility improvements and funding to continue the Pre-K Program. Additionally, voters approved the purchase of eight school buses from the Bus Purchase Reserve Fund.
Residents of the East Greenbush Central School District will vote on the proposed school budget for 2023-24 on Tuesday, May 16. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
