Columbia High School junior Elle Hutton won a state championship at the NYSPHSAA Girls’ Wrestling Invitational on Friday at SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College. Congratulations!

Four wrestlers from the Columbia Girls’ Wrestling team qualified for the NYSPHSAA Girls Wrestling Invitational based on their results from the Section 2 Championship Tournament. Elle Hutton, Bella Satalino, Kiara Murdi and Emily Brown will compete in the state championships on Friday, January 26 at SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College.

All schools and district offices in the East Greenbush CSD will be closed Tuesday, January 16 due to the weather forecast. This will be a traditional snow day with no remote learning.

Columbia High School is moving forward with planning to offer Girls’ Flag Football as a new interscholastic sport in the spring. Columbia Athletic Director Ryan Jones brought a proposal to the Board of Education at its public meeting on Wednesday evening, which was supported unanimously.

Columbia High School Varsity Girls’ Soccer player Kennedy Ring ’25 was named by the United Soccer Coaches Association to both the High School All-America team and East All-Region team. Kennedy was selected as 1 of 56 girls from across the country and 1 of 5 girls in New York State to receive All-American honors.
