Free meals are available to children and teens in need throughout Rensselaer County this summer. Each of the sites, which are listed on the Rensselaer County Department for Youth website, offer free meals to anyone 18 years old or under on a first come first serve basis.

Now that it is officially summer and families are spending more time outdoors, the East Greenbush Central School District wants to share some helpful information about tickborne diseases, such as Lyme Disease, from the New York State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
As summer vacation begins, the East Greenbush Central School District is sharing a Summer Safety Guide that was created by Safe Kids Capital Region and Albany Medical Center. The helpful guide includes safety tips for playgrounds, pools, bicycles and more.
Eighth grade students from Howard L. Goff Middle School received certificates as they officially graduated from middle school on Friday evening at Elevation Celebration in the Columbia High School gymnasium. In a few short months, those students will return to Columbia as freshmen, and begin high school together.
