School cafeterias will be serving Burgers, Chicken Nuggets, Toasted Cheese Sandwiches with Tomato Soup, Pizza, Paninis, Salads and more in the month of November!
School cafeterias served delicious New York State apples and homemade chili for lunch on Wednesday as part of the Big Apple Crunch. The Big Apple Crunch, sponsored by the NYS Education Department and FarmOn! Foundation, takes place every October and invites New Yorkers to take a bite out of an apple grown in New York to celebrate the apple harvest and to inspire residents to eat local.
Kindergarten students are receiving hands-on lessons in school bus safety at all elementary schools this month. In Red Mill’s parking lot on Tuesday, small groups of students stepped off the school bus, walked out away from the bus and then watched for the driver’s signal to cross. When they saw the signal, they looked both ways and crossed the parking lot to a staff member.
Elementary schools in the East Greenbush Central School District are celebrating National Fire Prevention Month in October as a way to teach students important lessons about fire safety.
All elementary schools will be hosting outdoor Halloween parades on Tuesday, October 31. Families are welcome to attend and can go directly to the parade routes.
