Students Learn About Sled Dogs and the Iditarod

Red Mill 3rd grade students met a Siberian Husky named Almanzo at school on Tuesday as part of a visit from Run by Dogs, a company that trains and cares for sled dogs. The visit supplemented what students had learned in class about the Iditarod through lessons and reading Stone Fox, a book about a sled dog race.

New Respiratory Virus Guidance Removes 5-Day Isolation Period for COVID

The CDC has released new Respiratory Virus Guidance that utilizes a unified approach to addressing risks from a range of common respiratory viral illnesses, such as COVID-19, flu and RSV. As part of this updated guidance, the five-day isolation period has been removed for individuals infected with COVID. Instead, the CDC recommends that people stay home and away from others when they are sick with a respiratory virus.
