The East Greenbush Central School District released Episode 6 of its podcast Let’s Learn Together earlier today. This episode features a discussion about attendance, books students are currently reading, a staff profile of School Bus Driver Kathy Schmidt, and the Student Activity Spotlight highlights the Goff Drama Club.
Red Mill 3rd grade students met a Siberian Husky named Almanzo at school on Tuesday as part of a visit from Run by Dogs, a company that trains and cares for sled dogs. The visit supplemented what students had learned in class about the Iditarod through lessons and reading Stone Fox, a book about a sled dog race.
East Greenbush CSD will be closed on the following days due to unused snow days: Thursday, March 28; Monday, April 8; Friday, May 24; and Tuesday, May 28.
Parents of children ages 5-12 are invited to attend a series of free Active Parenting Workshops in March and April that will offer guidance in the areas of respectful discipline, skills for clear and honest communication, concrete strategies to prevent risky behavior and how to be an encouraging parent.
The CDC has released new Respiratory Virus Guidance that utilizes a unified approach to addressing risks from a range of common respiratory viral illnesses, such as COVID-19, flu and RSV. As part of this updated guidance, the five-day isolation period has been removed for individuals infected with COVID. Instead, the CDC recommends that people stay home and away from others when they are sick with a respiratory virus.
Special transportation requests for next school year, including to private schools and daycare or alternate locations, are due to the Transportation Department by April 1, 2024.
