Free meals are available to children and teens in need throughout Rensselaer County this summer. Each of the sites, which are listed on the Rensselaer County Department for Youth website, offer free meals to anyone 18 years old or under on a first come first serve basis.
Now that it is officially summer and families are spending more time outdoors, the East Greenbush Central School District wants to share some helpful information about tickborne diseases, such as Lyme Disease, from the New York State Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Fifth grade students walked across a stage in the Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School gym on Thursday to receive graduation certificates. The celebratory event signified the end of elementary school and a new beginning as the students will attend sixth grade at Howard L. Goff Middle School in the fall. Congratulations!
As summer vacation begins, the East Greenbush Central School District is sharing a Summer Safety Guide that was created by Safe Kids Capital Region and Albany Medical Center. The helpful guide includes safety tips for playgrounds, pools, bicycles and more.
Donald P. Sutherland Elementary School hosted a ribbon cutting for its new Little Free Library in front of the school earlier this month. The Little Free Library at DPS is stocked with books and puzzles that children can take home for free.
