The East Greenbush Central School District is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Casey Frankoski ’13, a graduate of Columbia High School and a helicopter pilot in the National Guard. According to reports, Casey was tragically killed when her helicopter crashed on Friday afternoon while conducting aviation operations as part of a border security mission near Rio Grande City, Texas.

The Columbia Kicks Cancer team led by Patrick Donnelly ’24, Cole Durivage ’24 and Corey Hamilton ’24 won the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s 2024 Student Visionaries of the Year by raising more than $90,000. The money will be donated to LLS for blood cancer treatment and care.

The Columbia All Sports Club will be hosting the Athletic Hall of Fame Celebration and honoring the Class of 2024 inductees on Friday, May 10. The event will start with a dedication at 4:30 p.m. in the Columbia Athletic Hall of Fame Walkway followed by a reception at 5:30 p.m. at Franklin Terrace in Troy.

Eleven students from the East Greenbush Central School District were honored at the Town of East Greenbush Spotlight on Youth Awards ceremony on Wednesday evening at Town Hall. Students were nominated for their volunteerism and exhibiting positive character traits such as kindness, citizenship, respect and responsibility. Congratulations!
