Administrators at Howard L. Goff Middle School recognized the January Students of the Month on Wednesday morning in the school cafeteria. Students were nominated by teachers for showing the character trait of “Initiative.” Congratulations!

Sixth grade students in Courtney Trudeau’s science classes at Howard L. Goff Middle School learned about weather instruments as part of their Weather and Climate unit on Friday. The three instruments – a prop anemometer, a psychrometer and a portable weather station – were borrowed from the NYS Mesonet and the Atmospheric Science Department at the University at Albany.
Thirty Goff Middle School students participated in the Rensselaer County School Music Association All-County Winter Festival last weekend in Troy. Members of the 6th grade band and 7th and 8th grade chorus were selected to attend rehearsals and perform a concert with other outstanding musicians from across Rensselaer County.
Students celebrated winter at the District-wide Choral Festival on Thursday morning with a set list devoted to the season. Each school’s chorus performed in the Columbia High School auditorium under the direction of their music teacher with songs such as “Winter Fantasy,” “Snow Day,” and “Winter With You.”
School cafeterias will be serving Burgers, Chicken Tenders, Pasta with Meatballs, Pizza, Paninis, Salads and more in the month of February!
