EGTA ‘Paints the Hallways Purple’ for Domestic Violence Awareness
East Greenbush schools “painted the hallways purple” on Thursday in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The East Greenbush Teachers Association collaborated with 2 Harts One Soul to distribute purple ribbons, decorate the schools and collect donations all as a way of bringing attention to this important issue.

Columbia Students Create Historical Halloween Pumpkins
Columbia students in Global History created historical pumpkins for Halloween as an extra credit assignment. Students created pumpkins reflecting topics such as Japanese feudalism, women’s rights, the French and American Revolutions as well as historical figures including Winston Churchill, Galileo, Confucius, Jesus, Julius Caesar and Napoleon.

In celebration of the American Library Association’s TeenTober and as a community outreach project, the East Greenbush Community Library generously donated 50 book goodie bags to Columbia High School on Thursday.
