The Bell Top PTO raised $22,361 for enrichment programs, field trips and other important programs that will benefit students through an online fundraising campaign over the past two weeks.

All of the fifth graders from around the East Greenbush Central School District gathered at Schodack Island State Park in Castleton on Tuesday for the 5th Grade Mixer. It was an opportunity to meet students from other schools and get to know each other before they start 6th grade at Howard L. Goff Middle School in September.

Nearly 40 staff members who are retiring from the East Greenbush CSD this year were recognized for their service at Wednesday’s public Board of Education meeting in the Columbia High School auditorium.

In the first 10 days of utilizing stop arm cameras on school buses, 77 drivers were ticketed for illegally passing an East Greenbush CSD bus, according to a Transportation Department report. Each of the instances were recorded by new stop arm cameras that were installed on buses this past winter in an effort to improve school bus safety.
