In anticipation of extreme heat next week and its impact on health and safety in schools, the East Greenbush Central School District will have half days for grades PK-8 on Tuesday, June 18 and Thursday, June 20. Schools are closed on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth and there is already a half day scheduled for Friday, June 21.
Green Meadow Elementary School hosted Field Day for grades 1-5 on Tuesday and for pre-k and kindergarten earlier today. Students competed in track and field events and participated in fun games such as potato sack races, cup stacking and water balloon toss.
Green Meadow Elementary School hosted a Flag Day ceremony in front of the school on Thursday morning as the American flag flying above the school was replaced with a new one by members of VFW Post 7337. The old flag was presented to Secretary Joanne Nolette who is retiring at the end of the school year.
There will be a half day for all students in grades PK-8 on Friday, June 14.
All of the fifth graders from the East Greenbush CSD elementary schools gathered at Schodack Island State Park in Castleton on Monday for the annual 5th Grade Mixer. It was an opportunity to meet students from other schools and get to know each other before they start 6th grade at Howard L. Goff Middle School in September.
