Senior Parking Sign-Up Information (2026-27)
Student Parking Permit Registration for Class of 2027 seniors will take place on Monday, August 24 in the Columbia High School lobby from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Summer Fun Day – Saturday, August 29
The East Greenbush CSD is hosting a Summer Fun Day for the community on Saturday, August 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Genet Elementary School in East Greenbush. This is the culminating event from the school district’s Summer Family Fun series. It will feature family friendly activities including bounce houses, food trucks, a magic show, raffles, lawn games, and more!
Fall Mum Sale to Benefit CHS Class of 2028
The Columbia High School Class of 2028 is sponsoring a Fall Mum Sale now through Friday, September 11. The mums cost $12 each. Cash or checks (make payable to “Columbia Class of 2028”) are accepted. The mums can be picked up at Columbia on Wednesday, September 16 from 2-4 p.m. in the parking lot near the tennis courts.
Meet New Director of Data and Technology Stephen Karandy
Stephen Karandy is the new Director of Data and Technology at East Greenbush CSD. In his new role he will oversee the district’s data and technology departments, including student information systems, state reporting, K-12 instructional technology, and cybersecurity.
New Summer School Class Targets Instruction in Small Group Setting
As the Extended School Year (ESY) program wraps up in the East Greenbush Central School District, a new Resource Room has provided a fresh approach to summer learning for 17 students with Individualized Education Plans. Designed to prevent substantial summer regression, the new class focused on targeted academic instruction in a small group setting.
Rail Trail Meetup Provides Summer Family Fun
East Greenbush Central School District families, staff, and community members turned out on Wednesday evening for a Rail Trail Meetup as part of the district’s ongoing Summer Family Fun series. It was a beautiful evening for a walk, run, or bicycle ride along the scenic trail.
Kindergarten Meet and Greet – September 3
All elementary schools in the East Greenbush CSD are hosting a Kindergarten Meet and Greet at their respective schools on Thursday, September 3 for incoming kindergarten students and their parents/guardians.
Columbia Adds Unified Bocce Team
Columbia High School will offer a new Unified Bocce team for students this fall, following a proposal to the Board of Education at its public meeting on Wednesday evening. Starting in September, the team will be open to all students in grades 9-12, bringing together those with and without intellectual disabilities to train, compete, and build friendships.
Chick-fil-A School Supply Drive to Benefit Red Mill Students
Chick-fil-A in North Greenbush is hosting a School Supply Drive to benefit Red Mill Elementary School students starting August 10 through September 5. Anyone who donates a school supply to Chick-fil-A in North Greenbush during that timeframe will receive a free chicken sandwich digital gift card.
