Technology Committee

• The Technology Committee (TC) serves in an advisory capacity to the Superintendent of Schools on matters relating to instructional technology hardware and software.  
• The TC provides initial review for teacher technology requests and discusses issues related to best practices and classroom technology.
• The TC also helps to identify and discuss needs that relate to professional development and technology for teachers when requested by the Professional Development Committee.
• The TC can also provide input regarding the planning and implementation of the curriculum being developed under the aegis of the CCS committee when requested.

Annual Objectives/Priority Areas

• Establish and maintain a 5-Year Educational Technology Plan 
• Field Requests for Technology from the district and make recommendations
• Discuss App and software requests and help to establish equity district-wide
• Participate/provide input regarding annual survey
• Recommend strategies to support professional development efforts
• Monitor implementation of the Chromebook 1:1 Program for students
• Help to identify opportunities and input to curriculum development plans
• Develop methods of communication on technology matters with District staff, including of Technology in East Greenbush (TEG) website
• Provide updates on the implementation of the Wide Area Network (WAN)
• Review implementation and use of classroom technology related to the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards
• Implement policies, procedures, and practices relating to revisions of Education Law 2-d regarding personal identifiable information (PII)
• Monitor website usage as accessed through the District’s computer network
• Receive updates on multifunction printing implementation in all buildings
• Plan for next phase of Smart Schools funding implementation; facilitate receipt of state aid for previously approved Smart Schools plans
• Participate in the organization study/review of technology and data departments as part of the Board objective
